Default supercharger rebuild

my 2000 SSEI has a marble rattle soung not too loud coming from the charger is this typical or is it due for rebuild? I was considering overhauling it myself having had 25+ years of automotive experience, built a musclecar or two. O n e-bay i found both nose cone and rear rotor bearings for sale. Is this a pretty straight forward procedure replaceing bearings and is that all that is required or do the rotors have a predetermined lifespan.I do not want to replace all the bearings to find out the complete assy. is junk. Also while it is off has anyone polished the charger with any success. If you have some pics of one would be great. I am old school where you lift your hood to show off your motor not covering it up with a ( piece of plastic ). Thanks

It is rebuildable fairly easy with a press and reasonable care. The bearings in the back of the charger are quick to push out with grease.

As for polishing etc.. sure.. if you are up to it.. you will get a bit cooler air from cleaning it up.

Do a search or two in the Forced Induction and Perf and Brainstorming areas. You should find the info you are looking for
