Default Stock Supercharger Pulley Stuck!!!

I went to install my new ZZP 3.4" SC pulley today and could not get the stock pulley off for the life of me (yes, I did remove the retaining bolt!) ! I went to Autozone and tried to use several of their rental pullers but they couldn't get the dumb thing to budge. Even the guys in the store tried all their tricks but just ended up bending the outer rim of the pulley in the three places where the puller'* arms hooked on. I noticed a small ring of rust around the end of the SC shaft...could that be my problem? Can moisture even get in between the pulley and the shaft?

Does anyone know of another way to get the pulley off?

Thanks!

You need to use a puller specifically for */C pulleys. Fairly certain regular pullers just damage the pulley.

And I would say it is possible but unlikely that the shaft/pulley are corroded together...but you could always spray something in there to release it (like Moov-it or Release-all or something).

Did you remove the breather bolt on the pulley? Not that I have ever seen some1 try to pull a pulley without doing so b4 but that really can keep a pulley from coming off... Or coming off in one peice....

Is the breather bolt the short hex-headed one that screws into the shaft? I removed that but it still wouldn't go... :(

I'll move this to Forced Induction for you.

You may have a member nearby that owns one you could borrow. Many do.

Yeah it'* that one

Ed

About the Puller rental... I got mine from ZZP and it was pretty beefy and worked well. I think it was $25-30 for 10days rental. I even shiped it back without one of the studs and 12 days late and they only took $2 from the corecharge. So I was pretty happy with that
