Rigging a home made injection system
Well, with 'The Addiction' nearing top-end rebuild time I've been thinking about rigging a water injection setup in.
I realize the water/alcohol should be injected after the charger, but since I'm going cheap how harsh would it be on the SC? Where could I get a injector with the proper jet for spraying directly into the TB?
I've wondered about disconnecting the windshield washer line at the WS washer pump (running pure water in the washer fluid reservoir) and having another line I can just hookup in a matter of 5 seconds.
Any takes on this? The main reason I want to do this is to cool down the intake temps due to some KR I'm getting now. 93 octane and 1 bottle of cheap octane booster aren't really curing the KR, so I want to do the water injection for when I'm at the track.
Anyhow, what are your thoughts?
I had been hoping for a high 13 second car this summer, but the way the car isn't really gaining so far I'm aiming for LOW 13'* (DHP or Intense PCM, ZZP short stack IC, rockers, pushrods, 105 springs, retainers, shift kit, modular pulley setup with 3.25" & 3.4" pulleys, LS1 or N* TB, high flow cat, headers possibly, and if I can get my hands on one -a GEN V blower). Reason I am aiming for LOW 13'* is so maybe then I can hit the 13'*.

Do a search on water injection with me as the author. You'll find all your questions answered.

There are dangers. Just be aware of that.
