supercharger torque & sequence
I have an 02 ssei and was really needing supercharger torque & sequence
thank you |
Torque specs for Supercharger to LIM are in Techinfo, Specifications. Link at the top of the page.
For putting the SC together, click on my sig pic, then link to 'pictures 1'. Scroll through the pages, and you'll find an assembly guide from Magnusson. First page is the last pic on one page, the second page is first on the next page. Torque specs are listed there. |
There is no order that I could find listed. Start at the center, and work your way out using a "Z" pattern. The torque setting is 17 ft.lbs for the supercharger to LIM bolts, and 89 inch pounds for the throttle body bolts.
|
The L36 may be 89"lbs, but the M90 doesn't have a plastic flange. Both of my cars are 19ft/lbs IIRC on the TB to SC.
Check that.....I just saw in Techinfo that it is 89in/lbs. Can someone verify? FSM please? |
so am i to understand it is 17ft lbs from supercharger to engine i dont need the nose torque spec thanks

From the GM SPO Service Information DVD for the throttle body replacement on a 2000 3800 Vin 1 engine.
# Install the new gasket, and new inserts and studs if necessary. # Install the throttle body assembly. # Install the throttle body retaining nuts and bolts. Tighten Tighten the nuts and bolts to 10 N·m (7 lb ft). Yes, 17 ft lbs for the supercharger to engine (more accurately to the LIM). |
I trust your lookup completely, but it boggles my mind how something so similar in mounting could be so different in torque value. The only solution I can fathom is that the TB studs are different sizes.
|
Well, it's not as if we haven't run across inaccurate torque information, even in the FSMs. I'll triple check with my FSM in a couple of days. I don't have access to it right now. However, so far everything that I've run across has been either the 89in lbs. or 7 ft. lbs. Sources have been AllDataDiy for a '98 and 2000 L67, as well as spot checking a few years on the GM SPO Servicing Information DVD.

10 N-m (7 lb ft) per the '99 FSM.
I just did it to clean my TB too  |
