Default Just got supercharger off...2 questions

- So my */C was making a loud rattling noise at idle which I'm well aware is often a worn coupler, I've ordered the ZZP coupler and 1 bottle GM */C oil. I took the */C off today and did a little more research on this forum and found that some people are saying to replace the bearings too.

1. How do I tell if the bearing is shot, if so, where would I get one? And if I don't replace it, am I going to get that rattling sound still?

- While prying the nose cone off, I seem to have pulled the nose cone off along with the impeller plate and the twin screws started to come out of the housing. Later I got the impeller plate off the nose cone which is where the coupler is.

2. . Does the impeller plate need gasket maker to be sealed back onto the supercharger body (just like the nose cone needs gasket maker to be sealed onto the impeller plate, but that one is obvious because it seals oil).

Btw I'm hoping my use of impeller plate is correct: the plate in between the nose cone and the supercharger body which houses the gears and is attached to the twin screws.

This should help you out. I used red RTV for the gasket.

Yes I have bought the red gasket maker and I read your guide before I did this. In your guide, when you had the SC off and took the snout off only the snout came off, not the impeller plate. With me, it did, so I ended up with a snout, an impeller plate, and the rest of the supercharger: 3 pieces, separate. I know I need to seal the section between the snout and the impeller plate, because that holds oil, but do I need to seal the impeller plate to the supercharger?
