Default 3.4 MPS

What all is needed to swap a 3.4 onto our '03?

I am very likely to get a great deal on one from a friend, and am curious as to what all I will need before the install.

Obviously check for KR, but is there anything else?

Do I NEED a shorter belt?
Larger idler pulley?
Would a 3.4 meshed with a gutted stock airbox and drop in K&N be a problem?

Do whatever you can to reduce intake and exhaust restrictions as well as lower your intake air temps. It might work great in cold winter temps but when it warms up in summer you need to check for KR.

I think you should check for KR now before you even think about pulleying down. The cat and Intense PCM may help, but even stock cars can see KR.

I am actually not going to install the pulley untill it gets scanned. There is a chance that I can get it scanned this weekend, but we will see.

It will get a FWI this spring also.

So I do need a shorter belt then?

Thanks.
