Default Oil Fill Quantity

Well that was a real eye opener

I re-assembled my M90 nose drive and refilled it with the spec'd amount of SC oil.
8 oz. or two 4 oz GM bottles.

When I first purchased this Bonne brand new, as soon as I got it home I checked all the fluid levels per the recommended specs.
The SC oil was low, well below the bottom of the threads, so I filled it to the bottom of the threads. It took half a bottle or 2 oz.

So now I decided, more out of curiosity than anything else, to check the SC oil level, now that I now exactly how much I put in it.

Sure enough, it'* well below the bottom of the threads. About the same level it was when I got it brand new from the factory.

So that could explain why I was constantly puking out SC oil into my lower control arm.

Default

I just filled Shadd'*. 2 bottles, and it'* right below the threads. I didn't check it before I drained it. He said it was the original oil at 105k, and I don't think he'* ever topped it off. I can bottle it from the pan and see how much I have. I know we lost about 10% when we cracked the case.
