Pulley

How do you get the pulley off a M62? What tools are needed. Thanks Dennis.

Old junker belt and large channel-locks or vice grips. Hold the pulley still using the belt on the pulley to protect it, and the pliers.

Loosen the nut.

Now use a 3-jaw puller (you may have to remove your coolant reservior depending on the length of the puller) to remove the pulley.

is there 2 nuts holding it on or just the first big nut.

One nut. The left one.

The other hex you see is in the pulley itself. Ignore it, it's only there to tease you.

I might be pushing the limits of drunk and fiberglass resin high, but to this date I have not given out bad advice in this condition.

Ok thank you. That helps alot.

If Wren suggests a big hammer...ignore him. ;)

When you pull it off...be wary there is a key underneath that might try to take off. I find a hand under while using the other to remove the pulley that last 1/2 inch works well.
