Default M90 eaton supercharger from 98 prix gtp onto 98 N/A 3800 intrigue?

Is it possible to put the supercharger from a grand prix gtp onto the oldsmobile intrigue? intrigues got the L36 and what I have found to believe is the L67 (gtp motor) is basically the same except heads/intake manifold/ and the superhcarger and throttle body. anyne know anything about this? went to pick n pull junkyard and found pretty much a complete gtp motor, including accessorys, pcm/ecm. already got the supercharger and intake manifold goin this saturday to get possibly whole engine or just heads and injectors and rail

ZZP sells a top swap kit that can give you a good idea of what you need.

heads
fuel rail
LIM
SC
Tensioners
Harmonic balancer
idler pulleys

The L36 bottom end is different and would end up running higher compression than an L67. There are lots of ideas and thoughts behind how good the swap is over how dangerous for the motor.

would it be a very good idea to get a pcm flashed? its my friends intrigue and he wants a smaller pulley, but I reminded him off higher compression. does bigger injectors and fuel upgrade and pcm tuning compensate for the higher compression? sorry bout the double post.

What double posts..I see no double posts =0)

The injectors off the SC motor should be big enough for the job. A pcm flash would definately be needed to compensate for a few variables etc like fuel pump relay codes.

He can pulley down a little, but with the higher compression, it'* like having a built in smaller pulley.

Wouldnt the diff size, gear ratio in the trans, compression ratio, factors for a pcm flash? Are the Cams the same? Just askin... I mean... for optimum performance.

Yes, the different trans and changing from NA to SC including the compression ratio etc are all the reasons why a pcm flash would be necessary. That flash would need include the changes required to have all those things work properly.

The best route though would be to custom tune the car.

correct, running the stock pulley (3.8") on the L36 bottom end is like running a 3.4" pulley on an L67 car.

the cam is the same

you most def want a custom tune when doing this

I thought so. Look for someone with good reviews. To do your flash. Flashing is a delicate process. Some people have really screwed things up from not reading up on how to set parameters.

Even though HP tuner costs $500. It will be the best route to take. That way you can control the tune instead of relying on someone else to do it. There is a steep learning curve with tuning. But we have a few tuners here that can help.
