supercharger oil
hey guys, I need to get the supercharger oil changed on my car. It has 96,000 miles on it and it has never been done! I just got the car so I'm trying to get everything done to it. After this the tranny needs to be flushed.. I need somebody to tell me exactly how to change the supercharger oil. I've never done it before. also, where do you get the fluid for it? I doubt they sell it at most auto places. Is it a GM only thing?

I did mine about 1month ago before I drove 400miles to N Carolina. I went to dealer got 2bttls cost about $11 per bottle. i then went to cvs and got a medicine syringe and i attched like a 1/4 hose to syringe I sucked out fluid ran the car 400 miles then did it again . I didn't jack it up though. As for Trans, I m too cheap to pay for a flush so I changed ny fluid and filter ran it for a bout an hr then I disconnected one of the trans lines goin to trans cooler which cleared out more fluid. I think I'm good aftr that. It may be easier for you to go to shop and hve it done. Up to you.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a GM tech and he said that they use Mobile 1 synthetic oil in the oil changes for the superchargers. One quart will do and it is about $5.00.

I tend to disagree. With the cost of replacement, I wouldn't use ANYTHING other than the recommended oil in my supercharger. Even if the dealer said it was ok. Why would a dealer do that if they had the right stuff on the shelf? I've seen dealers and GM mechanics that didn't know what they were dealing with when it comes to superchargers. Trust nobody but yourself with your Eaton, and use ONLY this stuff:

In my opinion... Yes it does.
There is no written guidance on the frequency. Some say every 50,000 miles. Have you ever refilled it? If not, my biggest worry would be that it is low. The 92-95 superchargers tended to leak.
