Default 10+ PSI w/stock pulley, WAI and catless 3" exhaust?!?!?

Ok, so today I made a run to body shop 30 miles from home for some GP HIPO 5-spoke rims. On the way home I noticed they car friggin launched when I went to pass a car going 5 under the 60 mph speed limit. Then I looked at the boost guage and saw the needle well into the orange and as the rpms rose it crept up past 10. I know the stock guage is not the most accurate way of monitoring boost, but considering the most I typically see is around 7 and that'* with temps in the lower 50'*. With temps in the 70'* and 80'* it'* closer to 5 or 6.

So I am wondering WTF is going on? I got on it again after I got back down to the speed limit, but not enough to provoke a downshift at 63 mph, and still it went up to 8. I then let off the go pedal completely to see what vacuum level it was and it showed 14.5 (almost 15) idling along. :? So is my guage faulty? I don't think so going by how much harder the car was pulling compared to normal.
No, I haven't gotten another CASE learn done yet (hoping to have that done tomorrow).
I later got a CE light and stopped in at ORielly'* and hooked their AutoXray up and found only a code for the EGR (second EGR I've put on this motor 400 miles). EGR pipe shows no signs of cracking. I am going to put a new EGR valve gasket in as I reused the original when I put this EGR valve on.
Would a faulty EGR system cause boost levels to jump like this? :?

Again, this is how the car is setup up right now:
STOCK ENGINE with stock SC and stock 3.8" pulley.
Autozone Rice Pipe with K&N RE-0810 9" cone filter
3" mandrel bent DP
NO CAT
3" HF resonator
3" piping almost all the way to the new IMCO stock replacement muffler (2.5" inlet, dual 2.5" outlets).
ZZP PCM
ZZP UD WP pulley
0 Guage battery to alternator cable along with stock cable.

I forgot to say that as of about 20 minutes ago when I went for a test drive to see if I could get it to replay the high boost it wouldn't. Back to it'* normal 6-7 psi (stock guage).

Sometimes it takes us a minute to get back to ya bud..

Top of the rpm range.. perfect condition.. it'll happen if the weather is right and and air is dense.

Look at it this way.. You stacked it up in the manifold. Imagine the feeling if that was able to flow through your engine. Would have been AMAZING

With all the bonne'* I've seen and driven/ridden in.. the ones that can process and still have higher levels of boost are quite eye opening.

I just noticed that I had posted how it runs in different weather, but didn't say what thconditions were like at the time yesterday........ it was around 80* +/- 1or2 and humidity was way high (90+) as it was sprinkling off and on.

I had noticed the same thing in my car a few months back. Off the line I get about 6 or 7, I put it down at 80 and pegged the guage.

It'* typicall to see 6-7 off the line, and above 80-90mph (high RPM'* in 2nd gear) see around 9-10 with a stock 3.8 pulley. I have see a 3.5" pushing 8-9 for starters and in high rpms go beyond the 10.
What I am seeing, is in the mid-range (3-3500 rpms) boost was 2-3 psi higher than previously in the same range, with the same modifications and weather conditions.
I'm not saying it hasn't happened to you, but based on how you mentioned it'* different at high rpms than at the bottom of the rpms.
