Default M62 snout seal

my supercharger is leaking oil at the end of the snout, i.e behind the pulley. Do i have to remove the pulley to change that seal or is it done from the inside once it'* unbolted from the supercharger? Thanks in advance

p.* i don't understand all the forum acronyms and abbreviations so please let me know in English, lol....thanks in advance!

There should be a clip holding the seal and bearings in place, that'* behind the pulley, so ya, the pulley will need to come off. Another option for you to consider is watch for a supercharger that'* for sale. Then simply do a swap.

The M62 or charger on your car is easy to remove the pulley on. A 2 or 3 jaw pulley is all that is needed. Then the seal can be replaced simply by pulling the clip Dan mentions.

Your M62 charger has a woodruff key and the pulley comes off easy. The newer charger known as the M90 requires a special puller to remove the pulley due to it being a press fit w/o a key.

lol...that'* what i did...you'd think the guy would have told me it leaked! Everything is in good shape otherwise so what i'll do is swap the seal with the one that is on the car as it doesn't leak. Thanks a lot you two, you made my day!
