supercharger boost
Im assuming that superchargers dont like heat and humidity as i've read some of the threads concerning low boost in the heat..i live in south florida and right now its averaging low 90'* and med. to high humidity everyday, my bonny is maxing out at roughly 3lbs.of boost..is that ok, or should i be pushin a little more?, or is there a solenoid problem?..i used to have a 86 grandnational so i have a little experience with the forced 3.8'* and i know my GN hated this type of weather.bs2

3 psi is too low. I just fixed mine and it was the boost control solenoid. Read these two posts which cover how to diagnose boost issues:

Let me know how you make out. Like I said, I just went through this and am familiar with what to do.

What is the year of you car? The SC model you have has lot'* to do with the efficiency and the boost PSI, as does air temperature, humidity, air pressure and altitude.

If you suspect a vacuum leak the easy way to find it is to start the car and let it warm up to idle. Take a can of carb and choke cleaner and spray around vacuum lines. If the idle speeds up, then you've found an area where you have a leak. Repair it and try other locations until you no longer get the idle speed increase.

3 pounds of boost is not right, you should be seeing about 6 or so stock. To test the boost actuator you need to open the hood, remove the engine cover. Start the engine, then look at the boost actuator, use your hand to open the throttle. The actuator should move the bypass valve lever all the way. If not, something is not working.

You need a new boost control solenoid. I just bought one for my car off Ebay for $25. What an amazing difference.
Call the dealer, tell him you need to check price and availability, and get the part number. Go to Ebay and enter the part number into search. If they don't have one, rockauto.com is a good source. I think the dealership wants $45.
It is a very easy repair.
