Places to get my SSEI Serviced? Northeast Region
My uncle has a 1997 SSEI that he thinks the supercharger may be done with. The car has 106,000 miles, 100% stock to my knowledge. He apparently was on the phone with a guy who walked him through a few things he could do to check, and there appears to be a strange noise coming from the supercharger when he turns the belt.
Anyway, I was wondering if you could give me a few reputable shops who work on bonnevilles and have access to the parts (preferably in new jersey). I have had one hell of a time finding parts for the car and I drive a 92 Twin turbo stealth which the parts have not been made for a few years!
thanks again guys, and have a merry christmas!

Assuming it is the coupler:
Take the belt off and try turning the pulley to the left and to the right,if there is any slop it'* most prolly the coupler.
The coupler can be ordered from either www.intense-racing.com or www.zzperformance.com
You'll also need 2 bottles of GM supercharger oil PN 12345982 and a tube of GM red gasket maker PN 1052942
Would prolly be a good idea to start a thread in 1992 - 1999 for better exposure

You won't necessarily find any "shops" that will fix the car properly if the issue is a supercharger. GM'* directive is that the supercharger is not a serviceable part.
However many of us know that they are very servicable. Built by men with various parts etc... parts are available. A coupler is a fairly straightforward fix.
Being in the northeast.. there are a few options for you.
Attempt the repair yourself based on the knowledge you can find here,
Bring the car to CT and we can meet/fix the car as I have most parts on hand, including a spare supercharge.
Possibly find some Grand Prix folks in your area or other BC members that have experience with these.

hey i really appreciate all the help and insight that you guys have gave me. This is my uncles car which is about 45 minutes away, I am just trying to help him out with at least finding the parts for it. I'll have to find out a ltitle more information from him regarding the problem and decided whether it is just the coupler like youu guys said, or something more serious. The car bucks he says, and that he hears like a whistling of some sort. I dont know how superchargerd cars react to boost leaks, but is that a possibility?

Bucking and whistling are probably more involved. We'll be asking for engine codes etc with the bucking. On the whistling, the pcv should be inspected and ensure there is an o ring on it to seal it.
