How many miles berfore snout rebuild?

So... How many miles has everybody had when they needed to replace coupler/rebuild snout?

I replaced my coupler only at 85k, but it didn't really need it. I did it to document the process for members here.

My snout entire supercharger including the snout seal, bearings, and needle bearings for the rotor shafts are all stock at 111,000 miles, and performing flawlessly, even after almost 2 years of my heavy foot and a 2.2" pulley.

Getting ready to do mine at 135K miles. My lovely wife complained about "funny smell" and I went looking. There's supercharger oil goo/dust all over the coupler. Also just noticed a new noise, sounded like a bad idler, but all of them are new. Closer inspection while running... front bearing on coupler also beginning a slow exit. Ordered a new coupler from ZZP, found everything else local.
I figured it would be interesting to see when people are having to do this. May help others for future preventative maintenance.

ive got almost as many miles as u and the snout seems to be working just fine, before this occured how often did u check ur supercharger oil?

I have about 90,000 miles on the motor, and there are no funny noises coming from the blower. The tensioner pulley was replaced, but that had nothing to do with the supercharger. I changed the oil last summer, and I plan on doing it once a year.

However, I think the previous owner of my car didn't rag on it much at all since she was an older woman who didn't seem like a spirited driver, so the blower is prolly in really great shape.

Supercharger Oil???

Just kidding. Was always up to level, but I never changed it either. That may have been my mistake. Another reason for posting this question. How much did preventive maintenance help delay the eventual need to rebuild? Food for thought.

I got over 200K on my Blower now, and I JUST replaced the coupler last saturday.....an my S/C is whisper quiet....with no noises other than when I got my foot to the radiator on the pedal.

I have 150K on mine. Changed the coupler about 6 months ago and change the oil once a year and it runs quiet.
The supercharger is probaly a lot more trouble free than the plastic upper intake on the non SC cars.
