Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here. I install 99-01 Bonneville front engine clips into the rear of Lamborghini Diablo replicas which my company manufactures and is prepairing to release in the up comming month or two.

My questions today pertain to a 1996 Bonneville SSEI which I have just installed into my personal Diablo. While the engine is so easily accessible I would like to take the oppertunity to upgrade the easy things to gain HP.

So far this is what I have done:
K&N cone filter
Cat back
Borla muffler (entire exhuast system is only about 3.5 feet in length.
MSD spark plug wires
Replaced factory wiring harness with Painless Wiring harness

Absolutely nothing else has changed. I would like to do somthing with the supercharger and stock computer for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

But if your looking for upgrade sugestions most start off freeing up the intake & putting in a colder thermostat along with 1 heat range colder plugs & to top it off a 3.5" or 3.4" pulley on their super charger. Going smaller then that would not be good unless you were doing something else such as headers or a cam and so on. Otherwise you would run into lots of KR (Knock Retard).

that is REALLY cool, it seems as if anything can run off a 3800sc. I'd think you can do a pulley, cam, and rockers would be a start.


whats a diablo cost with a 3800sc installed? if you provide everything or if I provide the motor

Thanks. The more I can learn the better. I will look through these links for more possibilities. I heard a rumor where someone performed some changes to the supercharger and gained some good hp. I havn't yet found out what changes were made, if there was any truth to these rumors.

Our target price for the base kit is $12,500 and $17,000 for the deluxe kit. The base kit will get you the bare esentials like frame, front suspension, body, electronic opening doors, windshield glass, etc.. The deluxe kit will be more like a car in peices less donor vehicle, wheels, tires, seats, and paint. If one were to buy everything through us short of the donor vehicle their total investment to complete the car should be around $22,000.

I'll let everyone know when details and photos are available on our site.

you are limited with the 96 because there is no PCM support for that year....althought you mentioned that you have a different wire harness....I would suggest a 3.4 pulley to start off with

you can easily make those cars run 11s or ever 10s if you so wanted

I would be very happy if I could get it to run in the low 12s or upper 11s in a 1/4. The total gross weight is about 2,800lbs which is considerably lighter than a stock Bonneville and with very little wind drag helps. I don't want to spend a ton of money on the engine but at least enough to get it near 300hp. When it comes to Ford or Chevy V8s I can easily predict the cost to add 50 or 100hp to a stock engine. Does any one have any price ballparks they can through me into?

i would either call or send an email to either intense-racing or ZZperformance , if your lucky maybe Todd from intese will see this thread and give you some ideas.. It shoulnt be too dificult, especially since the motor will be out of the car and easy to work on


One question for you: why 99-01 front clips? The 99 and 00 are different, and if a 99 and an 00 work, then anything from 97-03 will work aswell

with a 3.25 pulley, headers, 3 " downpipe, cold air intake, rockers 1.9 you will easily get over 300hp, something close to 320hp(crankshaft)
but the most important, ...a truck load of torque, like 350 pounds of torque.

on such a light car, this thing will flight.

Originally we had heard about how plug-n-play the engine cradles were in the Pontiacs so we bought a few and removed them and designed a custome chassis that would mate them. We learned quickly that getting them running correctly with a modified stock wiring harness was impossible so we joint ventured with Painless Performance and developed a 3.8 wiring harness. The engine harness only works on the 99-01 due to changes GM made. We like these year models becuse they are pretty easy to find and some can be found with very reasonable miles.
