does the blower HAVE to come off to do the M62 coupler?

I am replacing the coupler on a friend's '95 SSEi. I got the car apart at my place. Right now I pulled out the oil and was about to pop off the snout but it looks like there isn't clearance on the M62 setup to get past the accessory bracket. I didn't think I would have to pull the blower off the intake so I never got a new gasket or any injector o-rings. Am I missing something? Thanks.

You are 2nd person this week that has brought that unreachable bolt to my attn but I havent reviewed it yet. Is this guy in a rush for the car because if not you midas well do the whole thing. I can tell you every thing u will need and part #'s and approx price bec I just did this surgery a week ago. Once you have the parts it can be done in abt 4-8 hrs depending on you.

I'm pretty confident I could have done the whole job in less than 4 hours had I had been prepared to replace the gaskets. Are the gaskets available at a Pep boys or are they only commonly available from GM? As far as midas, I wouldn't trust them to change my oil. Guess I'll pull it all apart tonight and get it ready to go back together tommorow, hoping I can get the gaskets on a sunday. Thanks

I tried 2 places for gaskets but had to wind up goin to dealer. Dealerships round here aint open on no Sunday. Do you need a parts list for when dealer does open?

Suppose so, much appreciated. Might attempt to pull the acessory bracket off, though I really dont want to.

After i got that outside bolt off I was able to slide the super out. No problem.

What bolt? I originally was trying to get just the snout off the blower without taking it off the intake because I didn't buy a replacement gasket until I realized that I couldn't clear the alternator (accesorry) bracket. I guess the M90 has a different setup which allows you to do it unless I missed something which I would be very interested in learning. Either way, I pulled the blower off today and changed the coupler, now I HAVE to get those gaskets/o-rings.

Was probably a good thing that I did it that way too, the blower gasket was HAMMERED from 131,000 miles and part of it had actually sucked in somehow (the part of the gasket that is on the farmost passenger side) and broken. Hadn't ever been off since it was built.
