During the disassembly process of my supercharger, I noticed that the two shaft seals for my rotors (the seals in the 1" thick plate that holds the bearings on the end of the SC most people don't mess with) were different sizes and colors. Each seal is a different OD, but the same ID (shaft OD'* match).

The seals I got from www.rollingperformance.com were identical, and as such, one was too large. This was, until yesterday, an unknown difference in rebuilding M62'* as opposed to M90'*. All other bearings and seals are fine (my nosedrive went back together yesterday fine, and the needle bearings are known to be identical at the other end of the rotors).

www.rollingperformance.com is looking into this with the dimensions I'm giving him (Chris). We'll find a solution and get the information back here.

The two OEM seals were rubber, inserted into aluminum backing. One was anodized blue, the other was anodized red. There is no way to determine color until they're removed, and the hole is too deep for typical inside micrometers or calipers. I'm going to measure what'* left of my OEM seals at work today, and use a telescoping gauge in the hole.

Word to the wise, don't throw away any OEM bearings or seals until all the work is done

I got him rolling on finding the bearings in that middle plate a little while back, then he found those seals. I posted those findings somewhere... I wonder how he missed the different sized seals.

I'm assuming he measured the big one, saw that it was the same as an M90, and thought that was it. Everything else is identical.

Tearing a SC down to that point is a big PITA, btw. BIG pita.

Well, that find was kinda frustrating, but it is an opportunity, as it leaves me more time to search for an industrial coating source while I wait for the right seal.

That pen was a gift from hp, and I have yet to find another like it. I laser engraved my name on the other side
