Default Series II */C pulley swap guide?

Is there a thread about the process involved with installing an Intense MPS on an M90? I know a puller is needed to remove the factory press-on, but I don't know any other specifics. Techinfo only has Series I, unless it'* virtually the same process. Thanks!

It'* no where near the same process. A series II is a press on where as a series I is keyed.

Basic on a 96-99 is:
Remove coolant overflow (I flop it onto the battery)
Remove the breather cap from the snout (unscrews)
Remove belt
Remove right most bolt in alternator bracket (I have the ZZP puller and it interferes)
Assemble puller on pulley
Follow your puller'* instructions for pulling (basically a very hard pull before you hear the loud bang of the tension releasing)
Reinstall by pressing via your pullers specific directions.
Add belt
Put overflow back in place and secure.

What'* up Ben?

You are absolutely right

My dad (trikefarms here on BC) has decided to let the mod bug bite his newly acquired 2002 SSEi. I'll be back in Iowa from June 30th-July 9th, so we're installing an Intense Level 1 L67 package along with aluminum frame LIM gaskets and Dexcool removal. We may even do some mild porting of his LIM while we're at it.

I think Mom and Dad will have something to grin about every time they pull out onto the highway

This is the part I'm concerned about. We weren't planning on using a specific "supercharger pulley puller"... we were just going to use one of the many pullers my dad has in the shop back home. Is there anything wrong with using a standard pulley puller, and how might we press fit the MPS hub back onto the */C if we don't have the same tool everyone else uses?

Please use the specific puller. You should know that by now.

You've got to have the stud that screws into the nose drive shaft to properly reinstall it

Yeah, yeah... I don't know all the ins and outs of the L67 yet. So what'* the best way to get a puller for temporary use? We only need it once, because the Intense MPS is taking its place. Anybody want to loan one out?

If you can't find someone to loan you one, I think ZZP still rents them for $30-40.

Talked to Ben on the phone last night.

Don't worry.. he won't be using anything but the proper tool. I gave him the in'* and out'* of using the proper puller and the amount of force needed.

Ben...I wouldn't bother trying to port the LIM. There'* not enough to port without going to say a ported lower and heads from Intense.
