93 SSEI superchager boost question

i am getting around 2psi of boost and no more i wiggled some vaccumm lines and took it for a ride and all a suddin 8-10psi i was like wow! i scanned it and got a bad speed senor on pass side and code 56? i dont kno what code 56 is but maybe thats the problem? it is so slow but runs fine.

I think it's all still related back to this:

Code definitions are in Techinfo. Link at the top of the page.

At idle, please pull the vacuum line off the top of the BCA (boost control actuator) which is the round black cylindrical thing mounted to the front of the SC. Does the arm move back and forth as you pull and replace this vacuum line? Does it move FULL travel distance?

chadly 08-10-2007 11:21 AM

yes it moves when i pull it off ,and when i put it back on ,it goes back to normal
the bcs i think is fine. i revved it up full blast and still the 1 notch past the zero mark, wich i am guessing is 3 psi

Pull the bottom line of the cylinder than drive it. How much boost do you get then? If you get more, than the BCS (little box with the electical connector) is bad or the PCM is making it dump your boost because you run non-premium fuel.

If you don't get more boost, your BCA (the cylinder) has a leak or the vac line leading to the top does.

ok at the very top of the bcm, when i pull the vaccum line off it does nothing ,the one on the side makes the arm move ,so is it bad?

chadly 08-10-2007 11:27 AM

ok there is one vaccum line on the bottom of the bcm, then there is one missing so i guess it is suspose to be like that i am going to drive it with the one off and see what happens.

BCM? BCA (cylinder) or BCS (little box)... Each has two vacuum lines. The one on the bottom of the BCA should just be an elbow that goes into the BCA.

And the BCS will have an empty port (that may have a little foam filter on it) in front of the elbow port. Leave it empty.

ok i took the bottom line off and i get almost 8-10 boost can i leave it like this?
thanks alot for helping me
