Default Super-cool air = more boost?

We're in the middle of a deepfreeze here, and tonight it got down to -36C. At WOT, at the top of the gears I was making ~11.7lbs of boost and almost 270hp according to the Aeroforce gauge. The car moved like stink too. All I could see in the rearview was twin-stacks of exhaust smoke screen.

Am I really supposed to get that much more power with air that cold?

Sounds about right. ESP if you're not at a high altitude.

My bonnie tends to run better when it'* cool out, but then again, most cars do...

I love mine in cold weather. Colder denser air is much more beneficial

Yup. Cold air and low humidity are wonderfull things for a motor...kinda sucks for people, but engines love it. The SC can move the denser air and pack it into the cylinders more efficiently. Even an N/A motor acts like it has a larger displacement when the air it is breathing is cold and dry.

Yeah, definitely, the tires actually lose grip when its cold, but when its really hot, the car feels sluggish. Colder air is denser. much better.

Yes colder air will definitely make more power.
The same rule applies as will cold air induction.
1% more power for every 10F drop in temp......so -40 to +80 is 12% more power i.e. if you have 240 hp you will gain almost 30 hp

also cold tires wont grip as well as hot sticky ones...so it may seem to break them loose easier
