Bill,
I had to replace my supercharger and bought a reman one from PSE Superchargers and they indicated that I can use Mobil 1 synthetic in the supercharger. Previously, I had only used the GM SC oil. I called PSE to confirm this and they agreed that I should use the Mobile 1. The SC comes with a lifetime warranty so I'm not sure what I'm going to use. Have you ever heard of using the Mobil 1 before?

Mod... please split the SC oil posts for us. As this is a whole nother topic and should be discussed at length.

The additives, oil'* themselves and everything about them is completely different from Mobil 1 to GM SC oil.

The original manufacturer, rebuilder, performance vendors all agree that GM SC oil is the only oil to be used in the supercharger. PSE is the first rebuilder I have ever heard of suggesting something else.

The cost isn't much different for the small quantity needed and personally, I wouldn't take the risk.

We had a member last year that tested other lubricants in a SC. IIRC, Mobil1 was the worst.

Eaton (the manufacturer) and Magnusson (the only licensed rebuilder) of our superchargers as well as GM state that the only oil to be used is GM supercharger oil (or identical aftermarket lubes).

GM supercharger oil is an organic oil made in part from animal fats. Do not use anything else.

The proof is in the odor.
