Default Wiper Arm Washer Fluid Button Popped Off

Re: 2003 Bonneville SSEi

An accidental bump (not very hard contact) to the washer fluid button caused it to pop out of the wiper/washer arm causing the windshield wash cycle to continue non stop.

A friend stopped the operation by blocking the contacts in the washer arm.

Question: I have the washer fluid button and the two springs that popped out - is it likely that replacing these in the washer arm will fix the problem, or will I have to go for the arm replacement?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

How is the button held in? Are there a couple of fingers that normally hold it on? If so, and they are still intact, you can try to put it all back together and see if it works ok. Any pictures that you can post? If that doesn't work, then the arm will have to be replaced. This is the procedure.

Default Wiper Arm Washer Fluid Button Popped Off

Hi Archon -

Thanks for the reply and the information - this board is awesome. I'm sorry I wasn't aware of it for all the years I've been driving Bonne'*.

I spent some time trying to reinstall the button, but no go no matter how I tried it.

It'* hard to tell looking inside the arm, but since the button appears completely intact I can only conclude that some small part inside the arm is either missing (flew somewhere in the car that I can't find) or broken. So the sad news is I'm pretty sure I'll have to have the arm replaced.

Question - any idea of what the book says for labor time? From reading the procedure it seems like it'* could cost a bunch for the labor alone. I'd just like to go into the shop with a little knowledge of what to expect.

Thanks again for your time and help! This girl and her Bonne really appreciate it!

I checked, but unfortunately, there was no labor time, nor cost of the switch listed.
