Default brighter cluster bulbs?

on the way home tonight (first time driving at night since i got the car) I noticed that the cluster lights were really dim, even with the switched cranked up all the way.

Think they sell LED bulbs for instrument clusters?

It is also possible that your dimmer switch is going bad. Mine has several dead spots where the lights are too dim or shut off completely.

same with my switch, they are bright, but when I move my switch, my climate display goes out and comes back on. I should be getting a switch here soon from Ryan.

Bulbs don't go 'dim' with age. They work, or they don't. Replace your dimmer.

Headlights 'dim' with age, wouldn't the cluster bulbs do the same?

Its the headlight lenses that get permanently fogged, not the actual bulbs that get dim.

Trust me. Bulbs do NOT dim with age.

Hi all...

Voice of experience here. If you look into the Techinfo article for pulling the cluster to check bad contacts etc. You will notice one of the steps is to clean the dust off the bulbs. This can cause them to seem dimmer than you may like.

A clean bulb on a good working dimmer switch will be more than bright enough with no reason to replace. Also...double check your part numbers because most of the bulbs in the cluster from 92-99 are not 194'*, they are smaller as shown in this cluster picture I snapped.
