Hey Dan! / "computer security relearn" VATS?
What is this??? It looks like a VATS key relearn procedure or something??? What years does it cover??

My VATS bypass resistor drifts sometimes, gettin kind of tired of spending time sitting in my car
listening to the radio, waiting for the SECURITY light to go off...I have a resistor in my key, just not the right one for the car (junkyard column)...
thanks

Well I did, that'* what I'm having trouble with from time to time now is the BYPASS resistor - I guess I kind of garbled that up. I am so sick of this %*#()&%*!!! VATS...so I wondered whether that PROCEDURE you posted would work for learning the resistance value in this junkyard column I have in the car. ???
Of course, since I have determined the correct resistance value and have the correct key pattern (with the wrong resistance) for the car, I could have somebody cut the correct key with the correct value...but that would cost MONEY
thanks
Rob

Yes the bypass resistor is soldered in / wires cut, I guess maybe I better check/resolder though...??
Both of you, thanks for the clarification on the procedure - that was really my question here .....
