I have power locks disabled as they are a problem opening, now my makes a noise sometimes and wont start unless I put key in the door .But this happens even though the door isnt locked.Do I need to do the vats bypass for this.

Your security system is different for entry and VATS (starting).
You are tripping the 'entry' system by not using the fob or key to enter the car. Not the VATS system.

I also tried to disconnect the trunk lock wires didnt seem to help.
