Default 1995 SSEi, Electrical Completely Dead

My '95 has 225,000 miles and after letting it sit for approx 1 week the electrical system completely died, not even enough juice to unlock the doors. I charged the system, got it running, and then took it to a shop to be checked out. The alternator and battery are OK and their was no load on the system with the car turned off. Everything was fine, drove it around for a day and then let it sit for 36 hours and had the same problem. Any suggestions?

I know it sounds lame, but check the battery cables, both of them on both ends. Several members have seen this problem, including me. Mine turned out to be a corroded + cable at the battery. My guess is that will correct the problem.

Welcome to the club.

Had the terminals on the battery changed, but will look a little closer at the cables ... both ends.

Thanks.

I know, it'* been a while, but I think I finally got it. Pulled all the fuses and then put them back one at a time and watched the draw on my battery charger. Turns out the power antenna was kicking on and off (Fuse 2 on passenger side panel). When I disconnected the antenna, problem went away. Fortunately I have a second vehicle. Anybody have a power antenna for a "95 for sale?

I can get one if I don't have one. Won't be til this weekend.

Another common problem is worn ELC shocks, and a corroded Ground Bus. I know your problem is solved, but just incase someone else runs across this topic.
