Default TCS/ABS lights on WHY???

I have two problems, one I will address here and I will post the other after this, I don't think they are related but I will quickley mention both in this post just in case. Quick overview, I bought the car last October (10 months ago) The thing runs like a dream, didn't have any problems with it until recently. I have put almost 25k on it in the 10 months I have had it, now has a little over 120k on it. First thing that happened, my tcs/abs lights are always on, they used to come on sometimes, then go off, but now they stay on from the moments I turn my car on to the moment I turn it off. Does anyone know why this is doing this.? My other problem is with the air pump/compressor for my ride leveling which will be titled "Air Pump" as a post soon after I post this one. Any help woud greatly be appreciated. Thanks

the first thing you need to check for the ABS/TCS lights are the wheel speed sensors.

To me it sounds like over time the connections started to corrode/get dirty (hense the on and off of the lights) and now they have gotten dirty enough that one of the sensors no longer makes a connection.

The other possibility is the sensor itself. But it is cheaper to check and clean all the connections first.

check the whees speed sensors at all 4 wheels. If a sensor is disconnected or is not conneted properly it may cause the light. you also can try dilectric grease in the connector and see if that helps

unfortunately ABS codes can only be read by the dealer

Is this something I can do without taking the tires off, or do I need to remove all of the tires to do this?

you can reach the fronts w/o taking the tires off if you have a small body structure or very long arms. Would be MUCH easier with the tires off.

I have a couple more questions, I took all the wheels off and looked at all the connection, they all seem pretty clean and in good working order (appearence wise), none of the wires were frayed and nothing looked out of the ordinary, ecxept I'm going to need front brakes in about 5k or so. My first ? is, you mention only the dealer can read the ABS codes (how much $ to do that). If I have them read it, will it tell me if there is something wrong, e.g. bad right reat sensor or bad ABS controller? and 2) how would I be able to tell if a sensor is bad without taking it to the dealer. Are these parts expensive?

Got the code read today, "Brake Pulse modulator valve groung circuit" It sounded bad and I guess it could be, he said it could be as simple as a bad wire/connection, but he said not very likely. Said it'* probably the ABS pump. $1,100 to replace What next guys, have you encountered this before, what the heck should I do? go without ABS/TCS or suck it up.

there are always junkyard parts to offset that "GM feeling"
