Default Interior Lighting Problems

Maybe some of you brighter electrical guys could point me in the right direction.

My interior courtesy lights are staying on, here'* a summary;

1) Lights do not come on when using Remote Entry (used to).

2) Lights come on when any one of the doors is opened.

3) Lights stay lit until minutes after turning the car off.

All other lighting works correctly.

Something tells me the Body Control Module is the problem. I should add that my Air Bag light on the dsh is lit too. It turned off long ago when I dried out the interior carpet (had door seal leaks) but it'* been on for some time now.

Any pointers guys?

Cheers,

Isn't the airbag module on the floor in some later 90'* models?

Maybe the Remote Accessory module is bad? Unless thats tied in with your RAC which seems to be working.

the airbag module is under the passenger seat, that is a possibility why your airbag light is on, as for the lights the RAC is above the front passenger footwall

And the funny thing thing is it'* rare to have a passenger in the car, but this started the day after my youngest daughter was in the car :?

Guess I'll have to get in there and at least check the connections...not exactly great weather to be doing that outside though.

Thanks for the feedback guys...any more ideas?

It could possibly be a bad connection on a door or the trunk. But I would guess your DIC would also inform you if something was not 100% shut.
