Default Strange Problem

Car started and ran okay. Then I went to the store. The car probably sat in the parking lot for a half hour. When I got back in and started it, it revved up to 2. (Which I know it doesn't normally do.) Everytime I braked the battery needle went down. I managed to not brake much on the way home. Also when I was braking it didn't stay at 0 but the needle moved towards 1. When I got home and braked in the parking space the check gauges light came on and the car died.

Any Ideas?

It'* not showing any codes at all. Oh, and BTW, it'* a car of one of my wife'* co-workers....I had to contact her to find out again what it was. It'* a 93 Olds Cutlass with a 3.1. For some reason I was thinking it was an Olds 88 3.8.

Well, not giving us much to go on here. From what you are saying it sounds like a short or grounding problem. Start checking the ground busses for corrosion.
