I need some help, I would like to add wig-wag'* to my 2005 Bonneville SE.

The 2004 3.8L uses a positive switch w/ DRL wig-wag

The 2004 4.6L also uses a positive switch but does not list a DRL option.

Now when I called about the '05 they didn't know which one I would use and suggested if my Bon uses the high-beams as DRL then it won't work because that is a low voltage system and the wig-wag would fry the wiring. I since then noticed it does not use the high-beams for DRL.

So I guess I need to know if the 05 SE is positive or ground and if the wig-wag is even possible.

TIA!

You should never have a + ground system.

Who are you getting the flasher form? Wheelen and ShoMe are good brands IMO

The DRL relay when dropped out, switches ground in for the left high beam to provide normal high beam operation. (high beams paralleled) When the DRL relay picks up, it switches in 12v+ to the left high beam & places both left & right high beams in series for DRL operation.

That is the thing though, I have noticed when following black trucks and vans that it does not use the high beams for DRL it uses the standard lights, I tested this also by flashing my brights the standard lights turn off the high beams turn on.

Am I to assume I don't have 12v running to my high beams then?

You could disable the drl'*; but I am unsure on how to do that.

There is a way. It'* electrical so it'* possible. I am scared why you wnat to run wig wags.

I am a POC Firefighter and we use our POVs to respond both to the station and scene...

Wig wags in my mind are the best traffic clearing device I can put on my car. Also going with the sho-me led mini-bar with the side strobes.

That with the siren should be it for now, but I really want wig-wags if its possible, I don't want strobes in my front corners (might put them in my rear though)..
