Shift Console light out?

Hello folks. Driving home last night I noticed that the shift indicator on my console had no light. I am having a brain fart........was there ever a light there? Every car I have owned has had a light there. I think because I noticed it there must have been one there. Well, its dark. Knocking the console produced no light.

Is this light replaceable??????? An earlier post of mine mentioned LED lights going off and on and fading. My 2003 SSEI has only 59K miles on it. Is this the life expectancy for all the bulbs in the car????? Thank you in advance for any help.

...Chris

yes there is a bulb in there. it is common that they burn out.

you must disassemble the top of the center console to get it out.

Get a red LED replacement. It is a #73 but a #74 is the replacement.

Or you could bang the shifter on top like I do, you feel like the FONZ.

console light

Thanks harofreak00 for the pics. I gotta find a light somewhere.

That is funny, JDQ! The Fonz. I tried that, but alas, no light!

I'm glad to know this is a replaceable light, and that I may be able to do it myself!
