rear window

Got a question about my driver's rear window. Whenever I try to let it down, it sounds like the motor is stripped out. I think it's stripped, b/c if I hit the switch UP while the window is up, the motor turns. Sound right? Is this common?

no not right at all.....not common

when you hit the "up" you should hear the motor engage but not do anything because its already in the up postion

Have you had that door panel off? It isn't common for the motors to strip/burn out, not impossible either though.

My reasoning behind the panel question is that something might be out of place and getting rubbed/caught to make the noise.

Is the window moving slow or jerkily?

The window isn't moving at all, but it is making the noise like it's letting it up/down, but there is also a griding noise. I think it is stripped, because the PW motor was stripped in my dads truck, and sounded EXATCLY the same.
