Default Loud door chime

Does anyone else find the door chime on 2000 and newer bonnevilles to be anoyingly loud? And is there any way to quiet it down? Where is the "dinger" located, anyway? Could I put some tape across the thing as a "muffler"?

The door chime comes from the radio speaker. I think you can quiet it down by holding a button down on the radio. It has like low sound, and high. You might consult the owners manual for the radio to see how you can do this.

Tape on it would work great. I've done that with other cars in the past. It'* probably up above the hushpanel. You'll have to find it by sound.

00+ door chimes use the speakers. hence why you lose the door chime and other dings when you swap to an aftermarket radio.

Sure you could tape the speaker but your music would sound like ***. I am willing to bet that there is a setting somewhere for it.

I agree with "Timothy'* Buick" to check the owners manual

There should be a setting in the stereo. To get to it, I believe this is the procedure:

Key on, engine off.
Turn the stereo off.
Push and hold the "Disp" button until it goes into the settings.
I think it'* the Prev/Next buttons that cycle through the options.

You'll have to play around with it a bit, it'* been a while since I've dabbled in those.
