Anyone know how to roll or alter a digital mileage readout? I would IDEALLY like to have my odometers read the same at least.. Preferably read the car'* current mileage.. Thanks! Note: I figure I can get it to go forward easily by simply "rolling" it.. But I woiuld like to find out how to input my own values in.. Thanks!

Dashboards and odos are designed so that you should not be able to alter them. Sorry..think you are out of luck on this one.

U'd have to show me the individual pieces of the circut board and DIC screens backside. But I think it would be easier to just make a note on the title of Odometer Discrepency.

Dealer might be able to help you..

How good are you at programming? It'* very possible. Gotta re-program the DIC or ECU [not sure where the signal is sent from] to do it. Not quite as easy as an analog one though.

Well, I (With the help of someone else) have discovered a way to get it to go forward.. Since the pulses the clusters detect is electronic, one can simply wire it into a computer for power, solder it to a portaable radio for wave amplification.. Then with a program to alter sine waves, let the thing run on your computer.. Confusing to type..

From what I know of electronics, the odometer is simply an up-counter adder circuit. Theoretically very simple, but I don't know if GM'* electrical engineers designed their odometers to register when the vehical has gone above a certain milage. But an up-counter continues counting until all of it'* significant digit spaces have been filled, then if it gets one more number to add, it resets itself to zero and begins up-counting all over again. So, IN THEORY, if that'* all the odometer is, then once it gets to 999,999 miles, it will reset to 000,000 and you can keep going until your correct milage is displayed. Now, that will work if it'* just an up-counter circuit. The input voltage is probably developed from either the wheel speed sensor or some other magnetic pick-up sensor attatched to the wheel or ring gear of some type. Find that and pass a piece of ferris iron in front of it a million times or so and watch the odometer register the false miles until it resets. Stop when you reach your correct milage or you arms fall off, which ever comes first. I'd try it on a car that I didn't care about first just to prove that it'll work. Good luck

I dont think that going to 999,999 would work because the older cars that only had 5 spaces had a one in the first digit for example lets say that you went to 99,999 it would show 10,000 after it rolled over, so you might have 999,999 and then it would go to 100,000. I am not sure if the bonne is set up like this

Well.. The plan failed.. It just said Err.. Or didnt conunt anymore.. DOnt remember.. Anywhich.. I'll get all the **** installed, and then head on over to GM.. See what they have to say about it.. (Man.. THe looks on THEIR faces when they see my car roll on in..)
