Engine bay light
The light under the hood of my 1989 bonnie does not work. I know they used to have mercury switches on them, but i don't see any switch. Does anybody know the wiring for this, or could you post a pic of the wiring from the FSM.

I thought here was some type of a mercury like switch inside that would come on with teh tilting.. probably not a servicable item. But that is off the top of my head. I'm sure someone will have the diagram or diagnostic for you soon.

The bulb is good, and the socket attaches to the hood and the lead runs straight down to the firewall. Other than the connector there is nothing but the socket.
That'* why I think I need the diagram. I think it functions off of something else.

i am thinking about wiring it to a switch in the engine compartment, and possibly mounting another light on the other side, but away from the belts, from another bonne. I mean i understand why they did it that way sort of, so it wouldnt run down the battery...but the only reason they would so that is because they think the hood would be up for a while because they KNOW the car would break down...lol.

or...just give the light 12v constant, and then when the hood opens it will turn on just like if the lights were on
