Default A/C blower motor trouble......

1994 Manual Air controls.

I am sure there is prolly a post ont his already, I searched and looked through about 10 pages and gave up. so I appologive as I am sure this is a re-post.

I lost all speed about a month ago. I replaced the resistor pack and got 1st through 3rd speed. High speed still doens't work. I will assume this is a relay. If so, where is it? Is it interchangable with the low speed relay? I am almost certian I rememebr reading somewhere theere is a relay for speeds 1-3, and one for high. Thanks for all you help.

the above was a previous post. now my 3rd speed has gone out, It lasted a while once I replaced the resistor...... but this is getting rediculous....... anyone, help please! :(

The resistor controls speeds 1-3 like your post says and a relay feeds direct power for high speed.

Are you having a high speed and 3rd speed problem or only 3rd speed?

Ok..the relays may have been out before and we need to look at wire colors to ID the correct relay. I believe your previous post had the wires identified in it. I would remove the relay first and put it back in about 5 times to clean any corrision on the contacts. The only other way you can test it is to apply voltage and ground while testing for continuity. However I don't have one in front of me and can't tell you which pins at the moment.

On the third speed I think you've cooked that part of the resistor. Which would lead us to start looking for other problems. Why would you have two resistors go bad so quickly? Have you checked and confirmed the fuses are the correct rating and not higher than they should be?

I replaced the resistor with one that was given to me.... not sure if it is used or not.... I have had problems with the grounding block underneath the carpet on the drivers side. I had to replace that. I am starting to think all these problems are connected......but I do not remember anything having to do with the AC unit that came from the grounding block.......

I will check the relays, and see if I can find the one that is described......and check back with you

Back to that block you go. Everything is interconnected in one way or another. Since you had a problem with it before, it'* worth checking.
