Default Inaccurate Fuel Gauge

So I think my fuel gauge is inaccurate. Today I filled up. Needle said between 3/4 and 1/2 tank, but it was closer to 1/2. I ended up putting in like 38 dollars of gas @ 2.99/gal. Somewhere around 11 gallons. How big are the tanks? I'm assuming they're 17 or 18 gallons. Will the 92-94 techinfo help me on this?

Most tanks are 18, a couple of 20'* have been found as aftermarket replacements.

1/2 to 3/4 sounds close enough to accurate.

Your post is a bit confusing. You say you filled up, but only put in 11 gallons. And the gauge reads 3/4-1/2. Was the until the pump stopped or were you nearly empty and put in 11 gallons?

11 gallons in the tank would read around the 1/2-3/4 mark on most of the cars on this forum.

That'* why I was saying it seemed about right

Noo... I pumped 11 gallons into it until it stopped lol. I saw everyone else'* gas prices shoot up to 3.19 and such... so I hopped to the gas station. I was only expecting to put in like 25 bux considering the fuel gauge was so high.
