Unhappy Need help!! PCM pin identification

I have a new computer for my 94 ssei , it has red white and blue connectors. I need to know what ones to test so that I don't burn this one out. I have a quad 1 driver failure so got the new comp. And are there any other relays or load devices that draw power?

If the trouble code is provided we can diagnose the item in the engine bay that is likely to be throwing the code. That is unless we may have already done that???

More than likely a quad driver code is a soleniod or item controlled by the pcm failing. Could be an ECM failure, but I'd want to see it diagnosed.

If the issue was the ECM and not an item in the engine bay, then plugging the new ECM in won't hurt it at all. It should solve the issue.

My EGR is bad and there was a broken tip off a screwdriver that hit my crankshaft sensor and got stuck to the magnet. That is what I found out 750.00 later. How that broken thing got in there is beyond me,(paranoid boyfriend) or (janky auto mechanic). Anyway, something about a stuck pintel with the EGR, any thoughts on that?

A stuck pintel will give you engine problems. This is a easy fix. Now, the metal stuck to the crank sensor, that'* a new one.

The ERG is on the rear drivers side. You will see the solenoid right on top. Remove the two bolts and pull it off.

94 SSEi, the EGR is on the front driverside. There is info here about pulling them apart and lubing. However it'* probably easiest to replace the valve.

On the crank sensor, it'* a magnet, so that'* not a surprise it held the piece to it. Pretty odd how it was able to work it'* way behind the sheild etc.

Yes, pretty odd indeed! Thanks for your help. The EGR had a low reading when tested with a meter, so I thought maybe I could fix it. But, if I can afford a new one, I will replace it. Is it bad to drive my car with it disconnected?
