95 Bonneville SLE cooling fans running all the time
So today I replaced my blower fan for my hvac system, and started the car up. I took notice that the cooling fans for the radiator came on with the car, and they were staying on. I took the car out for a 3 mile spin and came back and they were still running! I have a 180 degree thermostat, if that means anything to anyone. Hopefully someone can tell me if the fans are supposed to stay on, or what to check if this is an error, which I think it is. I know something about some different mode when the car starts up for a few minutes, but does this mean the fans stay on?

You have a High speed and low speed relay for the fans...
But the fans should not stay on unless you have turned on the AC, or the engine is at 220ish degrees...
If they are stuck on you may have a possible Bad Low or High speed relay...

Thanks guys, Sig should be added I need to make a real one. The fans seems to be working normally I turned the A/C off and they shut down, I had no idea about the link between them and the A/C until today...goes to show you learn something new everyday

Yes when you turn on the AC or Defrost.... Etc Etc .... The PCM sees this as a Request for AC and engages the Compressor via the AC Compressor clutch relay, when the PCM sees the pressure come up in the AC system the fans are then requested on
