How do you turn off the Day Time running lights on a 2001 SSEi
Can anyone tell me how you turn off the day time running lights on a 2001 SSEi?
I did see where someone had posted on a 1999 model but I can not find the information for the 2001 model.
Can they be turned off without messing up something on the car?
Thanks

IIRC you would need to break a pin off on one of the relays. Give a search under the 2000 and electrical sections and see if you have any luck with that added info.

I thought it might be as easy as un-plugging a module or something.
I believe that is the case on the 1999 models. I will check and thanks for the info.

Removed #30 DRL relay and I did "defeat" DRL BUT I also disabled the "Left High Beam". I was unable to find any verifiable instuctions and I just attempted a "jumper" from 87 to 30 of the DRL relay pins. That gave me back the "left high beam" BUT I'd sure like to know if this is a correct defeat.
It seems with the jumper from 87 to 30 it sees the DRL relay as on when the "other" conditions are met such as EBrake off, and "IN GEAR". The DRL'* DO NOT function, which WAS "the plan"!! I've got High beam, flash to pass, fog with park, headlamps with wipers etc.
I'll find out this evening if the "AUTO" lamp function works.
