So here it goes, this might be kind of hard for most to answer...

I have a 1995 Bonneville SLE. My blower fan at times doesn't work, i tap it, it works. I can tell it'* on the way out, it'* made noises before even. I am looking at Advance Auto parts on their site and a whole bunch of blower fans come up, one being cheaper saying oem replacement, then others from companies like "four seasons" and a few others. My question is this, I notice the higher price of the name brand ones, and they claim "meets or exceeds OEM spces", but I can't get much more info than that. Do some of these fans run at higher rpm'* and do more CFM? Does anyone have any experience that can tell me one fan is superior to another? Should I even care? Please someone help!

---Michael

(PS I've checked the sites of the fan brand names in question, and they gave no information about the fans either)

Michael, I'm thinking oem replacement fan is probably just fine and should last years like the original has. My .02

Meets or exceeds is simply their way of saying at least as good as. Could mean different bearings or little things like that. You shouldn't see a CFM difference.

At the most, I'd get one with a warranty of some sort. That'* about as far as I'd bother though.

--Update: Just ordered a "FactoryAire" Blower Fan from Advance Auto Parts, the guy on the phone explained to me how Ready-Aire bought them out and are liquidating Factory Aire parts and it also comes with a lifetime warranty! This was the cheapest of them all, and the rest all have 1 year warranties! Anyone who needs a blower fan, check Advanced Auto parts out soon!

---Fan Install Update

Fan works perfectly, much more powerful than the old one but I think the old one was shot, it wasn't blowing half as hard as it should have. This one seems to have a very faint high pitch squeak when going from low to high, other than that perfect!
