Does your car have illuminated entry (do the lights come on when the doors are locked and you pull up on the handle, or when you lock the car with the remote)?

Could be a bad relay, or there may be a short to ground in one of your doors...

You need to do the illuminated entry test. You should do this test, however, when the lights are on when they are not supposed to be, otherwise you will get normal results.

I'm thinking there is damage to the wiring harness either in the driver'* door or where it jumps the gap across the door jamb. I would also check under the dash where the wiring bundle emerges through the door pillar; e.g. maybe some wires got munched in the parking brake mechanism.

If the ground circuit for the interior lights touches metal anywhere, the lights will go on. Since the interior lighting circuit is a switched ground circuit anyway, this won't blow any fuses, but it will make the lights come on when they're not supposed to.

The fact that the trunk release blows a fuse if the button is pressed probably means that one of its wires is also touching metal somewhere. Wiring for the trunk release button is in the driver'* door but no other doors, so I would start there when looking for the problem.

I think the entire wiring bundle serving the driver'* door is chafing on something somewhere, and the only two wires to be accidentally grounding so far are the switched-ground circuit for the interior lights, and the output wire for the power trunk release.
