My 95 ssei, pulls around 13.6-14.2 when driving, and around the same when idle, thats with a full original alternater

Yes, the easiest way to think of current is like water in pipes.

Volts is the pressure and amps are the flow. Think of an electronic device as a valve, no valve, no amps (flow), open a valve (turn on your CD player), there's flow. Basically it all depends on what accessories you're running.

Why the hell do you need to know something like this?

Get a currrent meter and wrap it around the output of the alternator. That should give you a good idea

alright thanks, I'm just trying to get specific on what type of High Ouput alt I need. at the least 135 true amps from a alternator, but I don't know if I'll go bigger in the future. But I'm basically looking at a 160 or 200 amp alt. Since I'll have other luxuries running instead of my sound system. And another reason is I just wanted to know or get a general idea.
