1992 SSE pass-key II system
ok guys i recently changed my entire steering column due to a bunch of things that were wrong and so instead of taking it all apart we just put a whole new column in. the problem is that now, even though all the wires are tested and working fine, the car wont start after turning the ignition. I THINK it may have something to do with the pass-key II system since the resistance of the key that came with the NEW steering column is most likely different than the old one. My question THEN is would it work when i take the switch out of my old column and put it in this new one? so i could continue using the old key in this new column? or is there simply no way out or what. would I have to fix? any help is appreciated. Again, the key does turn and all the items on the dash light up and evertyhing but the car wont start. The starter is fine and working, we tested it already. Thnks for any and all help in advance guys

Try taking the keylock off your old column and installing it on your new one and give it a shot. If your old ignition lock is screwed up you can take the lock cylinder to a locksmith and have it rekeyed to work with your old keys and give it a shot.
