Testing rear ELC air pump for 1999 SSEi
I had all new struts put in earlier this week (Monroe Sensatrac). I made sure the rears had the ELC option. The mechanic, said when he unplugged the old struts, no air came out, which led him to believe the air pump was not operational. The next day, I opened the trunk and turned on the pump and hear the relay click (under the carpet, between the rear seat and the passenger strut).
Is there anyway to test if the pump is working?

If you push down on the shrader valve while the pump is on you should feel some air..
Also the Solenoid should be on the passenger side of the trunk not far from the Passenger Trunk strut tower... Look behind the carpeting.... If you unplug the diverter solenoid and turn on the Pump with the Infaltor it should pump up the struts

If you feel like crawling underneath, find the yellow wire between the level switch and the compressor and ground it. This will cause the pump to turn on (don't flinch in surprise and bang you head) Do this with the key to "run". If it doesn't start, check if 12V is on the yellow wire

On Friday, I depressed the shradder valve when the car was off and no air came out (should the car be on?). However, today, I started my car and was outside talking to a buddy when I heard the pump kick on (about 30 seconds after start). It was that buzzing sound for about 5 seconds. I will try depressing the shradder valve again tomorrow to see if it'* now working.
