Voltage questions
I have just installed an AutoLite Pro Alternator and a new Optima Red-Top battery. At idle, with everything on (high beams, radio, a/c, rear window defroster, etc) the car has about 12.6-13 volts. During movement it typically has 13-14 volts. Is this good? Previous Alternator was allowing the car to drop to 11.9 without everything on even, so I'd only imagine this one is fine, I just need a professional second opinion.

That falls within the general range of these alternators.... Generally once they have charged the battery and the car has warmed up.... 13.0-13.5 would be common, with points as low as 12.5 for very short amounts of time.. So yes it seems as the Alt you have is operating in the correct range

Another thing to consider is the reliability of your gauge. Read the gauge..and use a volt meter on the battery to look for any discrepancies.

I'm using my Pioneer Radio'* voltage readout as a secondary to check the accuracy of the dash gauge, and they both agree with eachother
