Default lights not working

As the title implies, most of my lights are not working. I have head lights, break lights, back-up lights and courtesy lights all working. Tail lights, dash lights, and fog lights are not working. I checked all the fuses and none of them were blown. A week ago I went out at night and my dash lights weren't on when I put the car in gear. About 2 minutes after that they just came on. 2 days later was leaving work, and the dash lights and tail lights never came on and haven't came on since. A few days later the fog lights went out and the led light on the switch doesn't come on when flipped to the on position. Where should I look next if none of the fuses are bad.

Pull the headlight switch. The 95'* are known to fry the switch and part of the harness I believe, so it may be the culprit.

Hey look..a 95 owner with lighting issues.

The situation you will most likely find is this.. the headlight switch will look brown and melted at the connector and the connector itself is probably melted.

A little quote from another thread

My experience is one of about 10 in the past 2 years on this club. It has worked out to every 95 that seems to have any light related issues has a melted connector/switch. I would pull the swtich and look it over first as a precaution.
Now..you will find that the headlight switch can be purchased. It will be the same switch as a 1996-99. Looks almost the same as the 95 switch. Big thing to keep in mind is the twilight sentinel ring is different between the two switches. You'll need one from a 96 and if you buy the switch new...ask about the notation on the ring.

Meanwhile.. I'd suggest getting a new length of connector from a junkyard to replace the one you have if it'* melted. Solder and heatshrink tubing is the way to go.

A good solder gun, plenty of solder, heat gun and heat shrink tubing.. Maybe 2 hours total time invested and you'll be 100% again.

Difficulty scale is about 2-3 beers.... very simple.

4-5 beers if you are ambitious and have a helper to fetch them for you.

Overall...give yourself some time and it'll come out great. I found that some wire colors were different when I changed the connector. Merely match up each cavity in the connector and you'll be set.
