Front / rear left signal and same side hazards not working.

I need help diagozing a problem on my 2001 SLE.

After a heavy rain i noticed that the front left and rear signal + same side hazards not working..

Right side wroks fine..So i got into the front turn signal bulb and yes it was burned out so i replaced it with a 3157 model and the signals are still not working..Only park light and tail lamps work.... Also the left signal indicator on the dash does not light up and when i turn the left signal arm on i can hear a queit clicking of the hazard relay. When i turn right signal on everything works fine..

I have checked all other bulbs and thery seem fine. The sockets do not have any corrosion and are not wet....

Is there a way of testing the relay before spending $60 at the dealer for a new relay?

Any help would be appreciated..

PS.

Since the lights on the Right side work, your flasher/relay should be fine. I would use a continuity tester to check that new 3157 bulb you bought. It's extremely rare that a new bulb is bad, but ya neva' know until you test it. ALL The stop lights work (right?) so the issue is up front. I would use a VOM to check for current coming to the signal part of the contact within the socket. It could be a broken wire going to the socket.

Hmmm....after rereading your post, I get the feel'n that the rear Stop Lights are not working either on the left side. I would check those bulbs as well.

Thanks for reply..

I found the problem last night.. I took the signal flasher out and opened it up and shook it few times and plugged it in and now the left signals work.. But i did something to the hazard button and now when i press it in and let go (to activate it) it does not stay on.. I have to keep it pressed in and hold it for it to work..

So i phoned up a local Gm dealer to inquire about the part, they quoted me $150 for the new flasher, i nearly shit my pants... then i asked the parts person for the part number and he kept asking me why do i need to know that.. I gently told him that it my business and he still refused to tell me the part number.. What as asshole...I did not speak with his manager because i have dealt with him before (another compalint when i had a new engine installed on my 89 IROC, they tried to install the Low output, low compression, lame camshaft and wrong heads engine)

After that i contactded GM and filled the complaint.. I yet to hear a response from them.

Does anybody know the part number for the silver turn signal / hazard flasher?

If you're talking about the hazard switch itself, this is the part number and US cost.

Hazard Warning Switch
.
. Hazard Switch
. 25679148

. $73.28
Notes
.
. Order By Color.

Edit - if it's the flasher relay itself, you should be able to pick that up at any auto parts store.
