Default Front Passenger Power Window Problem

Hey guys,

It'* been a while since I last posted...It looks like I have been missing since November 17th, but things in life kept me away for a while, but its nice to be back!

Unfortunately I am coming back with a problem.

The other day I was on my way to see a movie and I went to roll my passenger window down and nothing happened. You hear a click sound each time you hit the switch (like the sound you get if you put your window up all the way, then hit "up" again and since it can't go any further you just hear a click).

Came out of the movie and suddenly the window works again, and I rolled it up and down a few times with no issue.

Fast forward to this morning and the window worked, but tonight when I went to run an errand it didn't work again.

The window doesn't work using either the switch on the drivers door or the passenger side switch..just makes a click sound.

I know it isn't a fuse, as there is one circuit breaker for all the windows.

I am assuming it is the motor that has gone bad, but why does is still happen to work every once in a while?

Any help or suggestions would be great.

If I do have to replace the motor, how difficult of a job am I looking it? Any write up on doing it?

Thanks a million guys!

Also, I am seeing you can buy a new motor, or a new regulator, or a new regulator AND motor.

Can I just get a motor, or is that not the problem? I guess I don't get what the regulator is

how long should it take to install it? Do I just pull the door panel off and I can get at it easily, or is there more involved?

Thanks for your help

once to door panel is off and the weather barrier is pulled back there are 4 10mm nuts that have to come off the regulator. it should only take at most about a half hour to take out put in once the panel is off

awesome! Thanks a bunch.

Just ordered a new regulator and motor off ebay for $56.

Much cheaper I am sure than taking it in to get it fixed.
